Co-operative housing with a shared garden
A 186-unit co-operative housing scheme in Ankara where every flat is dual-aspect and overlooks a shared garden.
Place and climate
The design began with a year-long sun and wind study on site. The massing is oriented to shield the afternoon western sun while admitting low winter sun.
Materials
Local stone, light render and high-thermal-mass slabs store the night's coolness and release it during the day.
